Tempranillo
Azpilicueta Origen is a wine that pays tribute to Fuenmayor, Azpilicueta’s place of origin.
Its based on four pillars: the land, the tempranillo, the cooper and the winegrowers. This wine, the first in the Azpilicueta range to be 100% tempranillo, is fermented in stainless steel vats and aged mainly in French oak barrels, along with a touch of American oak, for 18 months.
Wine of a vibrant and attractive cherry-red color.
With fruity aromas of cherry, plum, blackberry, and blueberry, with floral notes and subtle spices from wood aging. On the palate, it is delicious, smooth, and with a long finish, leaving memories of fruits and spices.
Azpilicueta Origen is made with grapes from three plots in Fuenmayor, each with unique characteristics.
San Cristóbal: This grape enhances the structure and robustness of the wine, displaying cherry and plum aromas; La Tahola: A highly perfumed Tempranillo, highlighting blackberry notes, as well as an interesting floral aspect; Los Cabezos: The Tempranillo from these plots is distinguished by its balance between fruit and acidity.
Ideal with cold meats, rice dishes, vegetables, mushrooms, as well as white and red meats.
