Crafted with a limited edition of 167 French oak barrels that enhance the elegance of the Tempranillo, turning it into an intense and elegant wine.
Tempranillo
The choice of woods for our barrels is a fundamental oenological decision.
Azpilicueta Selección de Barricas has been aged in French oak barrels, whose wood has been directly selected from the forests of Halatte, Vacheresse, and Jupille. The French oak chosen by our winemaking team has been carefully worked by master coopers, respecting the wood’s own character to achieve a harmonious relationship with the wine’s personality. Azpilicueta Selección de Barricas is aged in French oak barrels for at least 18 months and a minimum period of 6 months in bottle.
Its intense and deep cherry-red color is combined with ruby reflections.
Powerful and spicy aroma, ending in memories of chocolate. On the palate, it is balanced and elegant, highlighting the presence of ripe fruit along with light spicy notes, such as nutmeg and pepper.
Grilled meats, rice dishes, risottos, tuna and semi-cured cheeses.

is working with nature: being able to encapsulate a landscape in a bottle.”
